From Heptaneasia to Bombaim to Bom Bahia to Bombay to Mumbai. But what has remained constant is her Geography. That she is a city born out of the sea and there is no Mumbai without the sea. While each of us has our own connect with this city, how many of us really know Mumbai's journey from Bombay to Mumbai !
Every city dreams of becoming a smart city and works towards progress and development. What gets forgotten unfortunately is the development of it's 'Software'.That which allows a city to thrive on its culture, entertainment, urban buzz, vibe and social interaction resulting in the much required economic activity as well. In order to make such a 'Software' available to the city of Mumbai, some like-minded people have come together to form the Maritime Mumbai Museum Society with the sole aim and dream of establishing a world class Maritime Museum, in the city, to acquaint not only Mumbaikars but also people from around the world, to Mumbai's journey from sleepy obscure islands to Urbs Prima in Indis.
We at the Maritime Mumbai Museum Society want to share the lost stories of Mumbai's Maritime past and point the way to our future as well. So come join us on our journey from Bombay to Mumbai. Support us in our endeavour to establish a Maritime Museum Of the City, By the City, For the City.
